Frequently Asked Questions
Do you play music during your breaks?
Yes. We furnish a CD player which feeds through our sound system, and we play appropriate CD selections during our breaks. If you have CDs that you’d like to hear, we’ll play them for you.
How do I know how many pieces to use?
Whether you are having live dance music for a wedding reception or background mood music for a corporate event, the number of instruments depends on several factors. These include number of guests, size of the room, etc. The size of a variety dance band is not as clear-cut as you might think, and is one of the important choices I’ll help you with.
How much room does your band need?
This question relates to the last one. Obviously, our seven piece group takes up more space than our quartet, but not as much as you’d guess. This is because the drums and keyboard, which are in all configurations except the trio, take up most of the room. We want you to have enough room for your ballroom dancing pleasure.
Will you MC for me?
I’m always happy to MC for you. We provide entertainment for weddings, corporate affairs and other special events. I’ll work with you during the planning stages to determine what you want me to announce, when, etc.
How many breaks do you take?
We generally play through first hour of the event with no breaks, and then take a break each hour thereafter. However, the particular timeline of your event may dictate a different sequence of breaks. Our swing dance music and big band sounds provide entertainment for your wedding reception and dinner.
